Tesco offers home insurance discounts

Tesco has announced that it will offer cheaper rates for home insurance online if you are already a Tesco insurance customer.

Tesco Personal Finance, the financial wing of the successful supermarket brand, says that all new home insurance customers can get a 20 per cent deduction over the phone if they are not already Tesco car insurance policy holders.

If you are currently a holder of Tesco car insurance, the discount rises to 25 per cent.

However, if you are both a Tesco car insurance policy holder and purchase your home insurance online, a saving of 30 per cent can be made.

In addition, the company says, anyone who purchases the policy before November 30th will receive 1,000 clubcard points added to their balance.

The encouragement to buy online is the latest news related to internet insurance, with the AA announcing recently that it had expanded its online offering to include life insurance.

Lately, warnings were offered to the public about reviewing their home insurance following a period of inclement weather, which saw flooding in some areas of the country.
